tool kit
07/14/08 at 05:22:00

Hey everone, I'm new on here . Just got my new 2008 S40 at the begining of the month. I have an aesy question for y'all. My owners manual says that the bike comes with a tool kit, but there was not one on it. Is this worth going back to thedealer about, or is it just a cheap  kit that is not worth having?

Its cheap but it works,I've always used the tool kit,and you paid for it. Did you look behind the chrome cover with the key.

All I've kept of KLX's tool kit is the plug spanner as the plug is down a very deep hole in the middle of the cylinder head.
Aparently Savages have plug access issues, I thimk there's a mod called the trap door mod which allows you to get at the plug without taking the tank off. Somebody will tell you there good like that here.

I think it says in the manual what tools are in it. You need that kit.

You need it. Evebn tho its a bunnch of cheap stuff, the pouch fits the tool kit area & the sparkplug socket fits down the hole. My others wont. The belt adjusting tool is nice looking, polish it up & hang it where you can see it, just dont use it. The tools for busting the axle out are nice enough.
Yea, I'd whine about it & get my toolkit.

I got mine with my manual and paper work when I picked up my bike, Also, where does the tool kit go?  Is there somewhere to store it on the bike?  I noticed the chrome box on the right hand side but it does not seem to fit in there.  Do you guys carry the kit around with you?

Yea, it fits in there. Use every CC. Drop the extra screwdriver blade into a deep socket, open the pliers up so the handles fall together, stack it all in there neatly & then it fits. To make it easier, leave the belt adjusting brass plunger out.

Yep.... think of it as a puzzle.  First time is tough,  but from then on it will be easy.

Well, now the dealer is telling me that it does not come with the tool kit. I called Suzuki and they said things in the maual are subject to change. They no longer provide one.
I guess I have to put my own together.

Wow... I can't believe they wouldn't include that kit? My 07 came with one! It was in with the owners manual, original title, etc. that the dealer opened in front of me.

If never bought a bike that didn't have a tool kit, what do they want for a new new kit if they order it.
