What is the one thing you would change on yur bike

What is the one thing you would change on your S40/Savage? I'm not talking paint or chrome. I'm talking something in the way the bike is made. In the almost 400 miles I put on my new bike, the one thing I would change would be speedo placement. I bit higher up, perhaps on the bars. With my full helmet, I have to tip my head down a bit, and as a biker newb it would be a little better being able to keep my eyes on the road more.

Wished it was about 50 lbs heavier.Front is very light compare to other bikes. Also geared higher should turn about 500 less rpm at 60mph.

Clean up the rear fender so you could switch between a solo seat or a 2 up. (I have a list).

NOTHING.  But fuel injection with fuel cut would be nice,  I've heard that it is being formatted for a future model.

all of the above.  I wish it had bigger frame and about 100# more weight.  It be pretty easy to put speed odometer on the bars  use deferent gas tank.

I'd change the rider.  He would be able to figure out how to carry more fuel for a little longer range without messing around with an already perfect bike.

4carbcorvair, a bicycle computer mounted on the bars took care of that speedo location problem for me.  Costs about ten bucks.

Slightly larger tank, about 3.5 to 4 gals.

And if the genie granted more than one wish...
shaft drive over head cam or push rod
old style bench seat
speedo/tach on bars

The only thing I would change on how the bike is made would be to offer a selection of frames, or at least one more, stretched to fit taller people.  Moving the seat back three or four inches would make the bike much more acceptable to large people.

Otherwise, I'd leave a tried and proven design alone.  Most of what people want can be added individually.  I'm slowly building up courage to try to cut and braze my spare gas tank to (1) remove the speedometer well and (2) increase the height by two inches.  Should give me at least a gallon greater capacity.  But a touring size tank is not really sellable on a city cruiser/beginner bike so I would not expect Suzuki to change the design to what I want.

Add lead filled crash bars.  Switch to chain drive.

Royally!  Swap it out.

You can get a cheap little springer or spend about $500 for Bill Mayer (any butt, any bike) to make you a one off custom (he wants photos of you and your bike so as to make the seat fit.)

Greg did an excelent job:

You could go with a springer seat, and have mounts on the fender for a second springer seat for a passenger.  Or a luggage rack with a seat to fit it as I had on my old DT175.

Easier access to the spark plug would be nice.
