I have heard that the new Federal law encouraging ethanol makes it optional whether the station posts alcohol content. Some places I have been have a label on the pump saying the fuel "May contain up to 10% ethanol." Here in Nebraska most of the stations label what you are supposed to be getting. Many pumps now have single hoses, so if the last guy got ethanol fuel, you are going to get a hoseful of it. So, whether you like it or not, whether you know it or not, you are probably going to be burning at least a little ethanol.
By the way, I use 10% ethanol fuel in all my motorcycles (it's a little higher octane and a few cents cheaper) and I have had no ill effects. Before I sold my wife's old Twinstar it had run on ethanol fuel for over 20 years with no problems. Come about October I'll start using straight gasoline, if I can find it, for winter storage. Even though I don't really believe it makes any difference.
