i got an autograph tree seed caught in it a year or so ago and it did tear then but only a little and it's getting worse only recently. i don't see it lasting more than another month or so...

i know i could score a used one but that would take all the fun out of an excuse to modify my bike!

i only know island wahine (means island girl and is pronounced wa-he-nae) through this site. shes on Kauai i think. shes ono kine fo sho duh.

and yeah, i get pleny tools with da right side up. i do wrenching more for fun than to save $ most of the time but this time both!

i just need to figure out what size sprockets will be good for the non-highway ride.

if i had a machine on the islands i would gear it to be a real monster on the low end and sacrifice some top end for it.

and from what wahine says, your top end is only 50 anyway.

well... top end on the north shore is 60-70ish when the tourists get out of the way.  Grin  but yeah, about 40-50 mostly.

and yeah sluggo, i want a low end monster... but a tame-able one.

i think the 17/43? (i'll have to check the chain conversion posts) i think hutch recommended that ratio for non-highway.

I had to replace my belt when I first got it two seasons ago. Shopped around and got rediculous quotes, said screw it, got a Clymers and dood it myself. New belt from Bikebandit ran me around $162 at the time.

i would not even dream for 1/2 a second of paying someone to put a new belt on. $209.99 is just for the part down at the suzuki dealer...

Well, I was new to the whole thing and little leary of my mechanical capabilities, is the only reason I shopped around at first, but since then, I've adjusted my valves, replaced brakes, swapped exhaust and rejetted the carb, and it's still running.  Shocked
