Than I would have to say the bars that I got from YonuhAdisi,
that are supposed to be s40/Savage side rails are NOT for an S40/Savage.

Anyone want some rails for a bike that I don't know what they fit?  Grin

They were off of a Savage, because I took them off of it myself. I don't know the year model, but it was definitely a Savage.

4carb- Have you TRIED mounting them?

I got mine fit this evening, with the help of slightly longer bolts.

Anyone have their passenger complain about the vibration of the bar? I don't know if there was supposed to be some sort of washer or rubber piece on the bottom bolt of the bar (the one that meets the fender) - When I tightened those bolts on each side, it seemed like the fender pulled "out" a bit to meet the bar. If there should be some sort of spacer in there, I may have to work something up.

Simon, when you put the savage rails on your s40 did you end up with a gap between the rails and the fender?  On mine it seems like I need to make some spacers to get a snugger fit.

The only spot that had a gap was the rear, bottom bolt on the sissybar leg.

That's what I had mentioned above... If there was supposed to be some sort of spacer or rubber piece to help keep vibrations down.

The front 3 bolts though? Those all looked fine.

edit - Actually... There IS a gap between the rail and fender. But I think it is supposed to be like that (compared vs. the S40 rails) - It looks like the holes themselves have a bit of a "lip" on them.

Correct, on the Savage the holes/tubes for the bolts extend about 1/8" behind the rail, holding it all clear of the fender. (The turn signal cable goes through the gap at the front)

The rear mounting point (bolt through fender into sissy-bar leg) is designed to hold the rail clear of the fender as well.

Hmm... Sounds like I'm going to hitup the parts store and find a rubber washer of some sort to clear the fender from the rail. :-P

Thanks. Smiley

Regarding the saddlebag supports - they are different from the Savage to the S40.

not sure sure about that. got some OEM saddlebag brackets and the package is marked for LS650/S40. put them on my daughter's 1995. the forward bolts needed 1/4" removed with a hacksaw - too long for the acorn nuts. so maybe something is thicker in the fender or rail in later years but the brackets appear to be the same.  nice fit BTW.

Try ACE Hardware. I've been able to find a wide assorment of rubber washers in various sizes for different projects over the years.

I just bought a '05 S40 and looking for a sissy bar with luggage rack. Anyone know where I can get a good deal? Suzuki has one for $175.00 but surely I can find one cheaper. Any suggestions? Undecided
