Adding a little bling
06/11/08 at 08:31:11

I want to add a headlight visor.  However, I am not sure what size is the stock headlight.  I have tried to measure, but my figures don't come close to the visor sizes available.  Anyone know what size our stock headlight is?

I have an 05 S40 and have added the bling Suzuki offers in their catalog.  A little pricey but they fit.  Smiley

I bought one from http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/Index_Main_Frame.htm

click on "chopper stuff" on the left side menu. It's the first thing listed. Only $6.95 for a 5.75 inch visor. It fit mine and I have an 87.

Well my daughter and I both like the "retro" look of the Savage and the visor just adds to that look.  I fondly remember the
big bikes" of the 70's...I think other than HD, Honda's big boy was the 750...having a thumper is all that...

PS...picked up some sea foam today...we'll see  if it makes a difference.

I'm such an ignoramus sometimes, so forgive me please.  I must ask though.  Does a headlight visor do anything (such as focus the beam or something) or is it, as your topic suggests, purely bling?

Works just like a baseball cap - stops your headlight bulb from being dazzled on a bright day.

bacon13,
Thanks for the link. Good price on a cruise control too. I may just have to order both. "But Honey, with the shipping I'm really saving money." Smiley

Love your avatar by the way. Made me laugh.

A 7" visor would stop "Dead Bug Bits & Vapors" from bouncing up off the headlight & flying back onto the rider. Well, MAYbe enough to justify $7.00. I think they look cool, too.

Doh!..........I guess I really do need my summer break.  I just realized that the measurement on the visor isn't the diameter of the light but the length of the visor.  That's what happens to teachers after the year-end "no-child left behind" tests....

silly me

Yes...I think the visor will help to keep the sun out of my head.  Don't wnat the two different kinds of light to mix.  Not really sure what might happen.

Nope.  Contaminated light can make your apperunsure.  It will definitely make your f stop working correctly.

Yep will make one's "F" stop working and could very well bend a framis rod.  Or even shorten the fenortonan rod...

Yep contaminated light is bad......very bad...that's why we ALL need headlight visors!

Thanks for reminding me.  I have to get a spare fenortonan rod before this trip to Philipsburg, and get my persnickitizer cap tightened too.
