got my new sprocket yesterday and promptly installed it. ended up with a 16 front 43 rear. still has plenty of take off power, and at an indicated 70 mph seemed like it was running a little easier. can anyone tell me the reduction percentage with this combo? all in all i like it so far. planning a trip to NC later in the month and hope to be riding the savage. we shall see.

That's the one I am considering as I calculate that it's 10% longer which makes it easy to calc your road speed compared to speedo reading. Also consider milage covered for service and oil change will be out compared to odometer by 10%.

rigidchop Serious Thumper Offline don't feed the drama llama Posts: 1105 ravenswood wv Gender:	Re: chain conversion revisited Reply #8 - 06/14/08 at 08:35:20 did a little road testing today, and the speedo is indeed off, anything up to around 20 mph is ok, then as speed increases the error margin gets larger. so at 40 mph i'm doing 43, and at 65 i'm doing 70, of course i tested this with my new GPS.

I wish I had more samples, to see how the speedo error varied thru the different speeds. HEY! Thats a great reason to go ride... hint, hint
