Where do the carburetor bowl vent hoses go?
06/05/08 at 12:58:05
Hi All,
Where should the two carburetor bowl vent hoses (right and left side) connect to after leaving the carburetor?
I purchased my 2004 LS650 with 600 miles on the odometer last winter and I’ve discovered that the bike has the infamous oil leak. While investigating the leak, I found that the two carburetor hoses on the right side (opposite to the throttle) were left opened and unconnected, just tucked under the gas tank. I checked with the Clymer manual and found out that the vacuum hoses were all connected to the wrong places. After consulting with Clymer, I’ve corrected the hose that goes to the petc00k but there was no information about where two bowl vent hoses should terminate. Any info on this problem is much appreciated.

There's a hole in the top tube where the square tube meets the 2 round ones, put those vent lines in there.

to see it clearly yes, but really as long as the hoses are held up high they'll be ok. They are meant to prevent a gas spill on tip over and help prevent carb overflows. On tip over gas will spill harmlessly into the frame.
