Weird noise this morning...

Its damp here and it rained last night. So I got the the first light on Suzi this morning and squeezed the brakes only to hear a really weird loud almost grinding noise and feel both brakes vibrate ~ WTH!

I immediatly checked everything, and found nothing. Could the high humidity have caused my front brake to slip and squeal?

It's amazing how fast brake rotors can oxidize under the right conditions, and this will cause this.

On the other hand, are you sure your brake pads don't need changing.

I ride 6 days a week - my rotors are so shiny you can see your face in them.

Brakes replaced with new in August 07.  See the wear on the original stock pads.

I vote for rust, but also some dirt could have been blown onto your disk/pads and dragged through quite irritatingly.   Shocked

Nothing?  No wheels?  No seat?  What you may have heard was your jeans scraping the asphalt as you scooched along.  Are you sure you didn't leave the bike home?
