rigidchop Serious Thumper Offline don't feed the drama llama Posts: 1105 ravenswood wv Gender:	chain coversion (disappointed) 05/31/08 at 11:06:14 i bought all the stuff to do a chain conversion, put it all together and the chain was too long, took out a link now too short, put a link back in still too long. i used a 16/45 combo as was suggested might work with the 4 speed best. i'm gonna have to try something different i guess.

You should be able to get a half link. That is big on one end, little on the other. I know you can on 35-80 seres chain for equipment. You will need a chain breaker to drive the pin out of the last link of the chain, this will leave a small end the big end of the half link will have a pin to slide through and a cotter pin to hold that in. then you have the small end for the master link.
