leaking gas
05/30/08 at 05:27:54

I left my bike sitting for a month with the fuel valve at the regular position.  When I went to start it up I noticed fuel dripping from the overflow tube coming from the carb.  I did an oil change and took it for a run and when it started warming up it started to backfire and cut out.  I thought I had run out of gas and put more in and it did the same with backfiring and cutting out.  I am still waiting for a new fuel valve assembly because of a problem previously mentioned and am running my bike on prime.  Any suggestions appreciated.

Sounds like a stuck float valve. rap on the carb with a plastic screwdriver handle.

Thanks Verslagen.  Ithink that was the problem and it cleared itself.
