Hello, I just posted, but after going back out to garage and staring I realized I looked for a blockage in vac line last week from carb to petcock, but didn't then realize any fuel in the line is bad, so after checking the end of the line it deffinately appears there is at least some fuel in the line, however running the bike on prime doesn't seem to help.  OH by the way, the problem is when i rev it over two thousand it starts to miss and die.  I think I've got a bad petcock, but I wasn't sure, and for sixty bucks, I figure I'd ask the experts.  Thanks again DJ

When you tried it in prime, you did plug the vac line didn't you?

And I'd take apart the petcock and inspect before out and out replacing it.  I might even convert to manual before I went out and bought a new one.

thanks for the help so far, I've hit a brick wall.  We ran it on prime, disconnected the vac hose and plugged both ends of hose, but I'm still having the same problem!!!    I don't think that was my problem.  I have checked everything I can possibly think of, what the book says and what everybody else has told me, but when I get to about thirty five hundred rpm, she starts missing and wants to die???Please help!!!

 Any gas in that line at all, and you have a problem.  That must be taken care of first in order to diagnose any other problem.
 Then, if there is still a problem, it is an entirely seperate issue, but you have to take care of the vac line issue first.  Most likely that is the entire problem.  
 The symptoms may vary depending on how much gas you have leaking, but once the rubber diaphragm is torn and leaking it will only get worse.
 Mine is now converted to manual thanks to bobo's instructions in the tech section.

Mine did that when the O-ring got brittle.  I replaced it and that solved the problem.
