Best source for a new carb?
05/26/08 at 06:15:11

I've had the one apart on my wife's bike and just can't get it to run consistantly.  It'll run great today then the next day it acts like the slider is completely hung up and stuck, flooding out and running rich.

Here's maybe a clue.  When it's going to run bad, often times it idles rich too (i.e. choke is not needed whereas usually it likes the choke at least for a minute or 2.)

Any ideas on what could cause rich across the board?  I did not replace the seat last time cuz the parts didn't come in time.

Best place to just buy a new one (thinking the slider body or main body may be messed up)

silly Q, which is the correct size stock carb?  Don't really want a performance carb, my wife isn't looking to go fast or change the exhaust.

They have very good prices on the Proline site.  Keep in mind that when sourcing the parts yourself that you will needs extra jets for tuning, a new rubber mounting flange, custom made throttle cable to match the Savage hand throttle with the new & different carb with different hookup.  This is the bare minimum.
