I am putting Metzeler ME 880 tires on.. and decided to look around the web site.
Ran into this info about tire pressure:

Hmm.. way higher than what the sticker on the bike says!

Dug further, and found the brochure (pdf file):

Look at Page 43.  Same thing, but very bike specific.

Glad I looked, or I would be running around with under inflated tires!

OK review of motorcycle tire review web site regarding the D404.
I reviewed their comments and corrected their star rating based on what they said.
8 of 17 reviews said 1 star wouldn't ever do it again.  Most of them were heavy bikes. 1 lt. wt. 1 mid wt. 1 didn't even use the tires.

6 gave mixed reviews.

I'd throw out the idiot that didn't use them, but 16 reviews are not enough to make a decisive conclustion.
There's only 4 bikes in my wt. class.  I'd rather judge this tire from results from this forum.

I've searched back a year on this web site for 'd404' and found 6 comments, 2 said low mileage.

I've personally just changed the front to a d404 and find the change positive over the kenda kruz I had.  Better tracking over cracks, doesn't want to jump over it.  I'll try and remember to see if it hums and what tune, but I'm having a hard time hearing it over the supertrapp and it's old familiar tune.  

I keep hearing 'it's got to be getting better' not 'I should have known better'
