Max, how many miles did you get outa the 555's?
I found some 404's a little cheaper and a little larger.

The k555 is a better tire than the 404 right?

Also can someone tell me what is "WWW"?  Is it White wall?

Tires?

....  I remember tires, I used to have to buy them and change them out.  Right pain, as I remember it.

Hmmmm ....  I wonder where my wife moved my tire irons to?   I haven't seen them for years now -- may have to find them eventually, if she remembers where she moved them to.

Oh well, I feel for these guys.

have been running the Metzeler ME880's for a while now with a 110-90-19 front and a 140-90-15 rear. they are sticky! believe it or not... the bike runs a little smoother at high speed with the slightly taller rear tire! the front end is a little "tight"when cornering but super stable at the same time. AND it looks cool too!

I'm planning on going to that size tires too when ever I need new tires Bigger front tire will slow down the handling a little which I would like better.

Here's my two cents:  bought a '98 that had original IRCs on it.  Looked around and chose a set of Dunlops -- front is F11 (100/90-19) and rear is a K627 (140/90-15).   H-rated, blackwalls.  Broke them in for 150 miles or so and then took them on ride to see the Red Sox play the Orioles (120 mi round trip).  I haven't much to compare them to except the original, crusty, worn originals, but they seemed to handle quite well.

If I notice any difficulties, I'll update this post, but so far I'm quite satisfied.  Maybe best part (so far) was that they were $90 for the pair (+ $17 shipping) from ridemotorcyclesinc.com   They are listed as a set for a Virago 750.  Caveat emptor.
