Anyway, you said, "my Savage turned over caught then stalled. Will not fire again"....What does "caught" mean? What does "fire" mean?
Does it mean that you heard a boom as the starter turned the engine the first time? If you did then most likely your plug is working just fine (firing). I'd start by draining the carb, just to be sure there is plenty of gas in the bowl. If it ran 3 days ago, and it "caught" once, it is probably not the ignition.
How old is the battery too? If the voltage is too low, most of the current will go to the starter, and there won't be enough for a spark.
