Too MUCH Chrome?
05/05/08 at 15:37:46

Did anyone ever get the feeling that there is too much chrome on the Savage, particularly around the forks?

Here in Nevada, land of sunshine and long straight roads, the sun gets into spots where the reflection off the triple tree can be blinding, and then it stays there for mile after painful mile. Has anyone ever converted that polish to a more satin finish?

Agreed, here (ok at least along the coast) it rusts fast - a "night" savage would be a good thing

Yeah, I get the annoying "flash" in my eyes when the sun is at certain angles.  I generally try to move my head where it is not directly in my eyes.  A full face helmet offers more opportunities to block this problem.

I am not a huge fan of a lot of chrome on bikes anyway.  As I get further into the bob on my bike, a whole lot more of it is going to go flat black.  However, I don't think that the top triple tree will.

Nevada ..  hmmmmm....  leave it out in the next sand storm.  Should dull it up nicely....

Your roads likely have curves. Ours have some, but they can be twenty or thirty minutes apart. When the sun gets at the wrong angle, that can be an eternity.   Shocked

There is never to much chrome for me.  When I get through you will have to wear sunglass to look at it in the dark.   Cool
