How do you like your jugs?

Ok, Jug on our bikes.  The Savage/S40 engine jug has come in polished aluminum (silver) and painted black over the years.  What is your preference?  I think they both look good, but prefer the black with polished fins slightly better.

Been a little bit anti-chrome for most of my life so really like the black jug on my '02.

Silver Paint?????

EDIT (5/6/08):  Just took a close look, the Silver is definitely paint not polished aluminum.

I like mine fine the way they are.

I like Suzi's black and chrome (2006).

Black and silver makes the rest of the bike stand out.....and it confuses the lemmings, I mean, highly experienced trendsetters that circle the bike trying to figure out what it is!

I like the ones that are in my face at any given time...

On bikes, I really prefer black.  I had everything but the cases (was too lazy to pull the engine down that far) on my '82 Suzi powder coated black.  It gives the engine sort of a piebald look, but it is unique.  I had the carb bowls and caps coated as well, so at least they match.

I have a book on motorcycle maintenance, and interestingly enough, the author claims that an air cooled engine performs best with a .2mm thick coating of paint because it retains some heat.  Loss of heat = loss of energy.  Optimally, engines should keep as much heat inside as possible, but unfortunately the available materials for engines won't stand it.

I can believe that, considering my exhaust wrap has given the bike some kick
