The reason I'm asking is because I am,and I have oil going clear up my speedo cable,and coming out the speedo.Is there supposed to be that much oil going up the cable?It's a new cable,and seal(at the motor)I don't recall my'86 having oil in the cable last time I took it apart.

Should be a little oil in the cable. I'm not sure , but it may be the way the Suzuki engineer decided to lube the cable.....

Another mechanic defect that will cause this also was a kink in the breather hose from the head - builds up enough presure and pushes enough oil up that cable to make one fell of a hucking mess at the speedo, and all under the tank, and down the frame, and on your leg finally until the defective mechanic decides it's time to figure out what is going on
