Savage LS650 Carb (Quick Question - Need Advice)
02/22/08 at 18:54:46

Hello,

I have a 1986 Suzuki Savage LS650G and I was wondering if a 2005 Suzuki Savage LS650 Carb will fit on my bike. I have looked at the schematics and they look almost identical.

Can i use this 2005 carb in my 1986 bike?

THANKS for the imput

Update: 2005 = LS650KS E03 E28_11 (Carb Part Number)
1986 - LS650P E28 (Carb Part Number)

They are both E28 Carbs the only difference in the part number is the "_11" on the 2005, they look almost identical in the schematics. Any ideas on this swap?

There are various updates to the carb but I don't think any wouldn't allow you to use any year carb on any year bike.

But you might have to rejet and you probably want to anyway.

Thanks for the response.  I just ordered a jet kit: 55 Pilot jet (.055) with ventilation holes. 155 Main Jet (.155). I havent installed the carb yet, but I think with this jet kit and also the washer swap out it will be running good.

I'd recommend getting a full set of jets 150 thru 155 since they're cheap.

Depending on your setup, 155 may be too much.

I went from a stock 145 to 150 w/o much change in mpg and a little boost.  Since mpg is as important to me as boost.
