Front fender replacements
02/17/08 at 12:10:04
I had an oddball idea about the front fender on my 05 S40, i love the classic style of the gz250 front fender and was wondering if it would fit onto the forks of my s40; the stock s40's look like a dirtbike fender to me.

I've put one on mine that came from J & P cycles. I think our Savage is 5" between the forks, measure to be sure. I put one in the for sale page a few weeks back that was on craigs list Seattle. It would have been easier than mine as it had not been drilled yet, I had to had the holes welded shut and make new ones from using the old fender as a guide. Max

I checked there but i'm not very well versed with modding, i was hoping the gz250 would bolt in near perfectly though so i couldn't destroy anything lol

Surprisingly the 250 fender is much wider than ours. I looked into it before I did the J&P version. It runs a wider smaller tire than ours also. If you could find a 250 fender a good metalsmith could cut it down the middle. take a section out and re-weld and re-finsih it, would not be cheap I think. Max

I'm going to buy this for my front. The guy will cut it to any size. Made from fiberglass.

If you're fitting that to your bike, are you selling your old standard fender, and if so, what would you charge to sell and ship it to the UK?
