I too often "blip" the throttle when starting cold. I know you need to wait for the oil to fully lube the engine before you ride (hence warm-up), but just how bad is it to use a little gas to get her going?
Too often I give it a blip too. For how my carb is setup, a bad habit. Now,
when it's warm and I don't need the choke, giving it a blip is no problem.
This bike and my last one (a Honda CM250C) both with the vacuum thingy on top of the carb; both are (were?) "no touchie" when choked. The Honda actually flooded (wet plugs), don't know on the Suzuki (plug is soooo easy to get to.). But, my son's Honda SL70, my Rupp Roadster (minibike, hey a guy toy.... ), the Honda CL 175 I had for a bit, all needed a tweak of the throttle. SO, I find myself over and over again thinking " #%@&^%@! what did I do now" unitl I realize what I've done. DUH... I will say that I'm catching myself earlier. It's sort of like the old timerwith the habit of pumping the gas pedal of a modern car.
As for the oil replies, I've got an oil pressure gauge.......it's scary watching how long it takes to get oil to move the needle.....
