Bill, next time you go to a dealer take a close look at the fins on a new one and then compare them to yours. The edges have a different finish on them.

Right now actually, I'm going to try and clean the black paint and coat it with some high heat engine enamel I found. I think I want it shinier, and easier to clean! The mud really doesn't want to come off the flat black paint, and it rains too much over here.

It's really very strong, and I can barely hold on to it once it goes. So I'm worried about using it on the bike..... chances are that I will accidentally hit something I didn't mean to!!
