Desnorkeling will allow more air into the fuel mixture resulting in a leaner condition. If you already have your jets and new SS hex bolts you should rejet your carb resize or eliminate your spacer, then desnorkel and fine tune for your style of riding and climate. Lancer has a carb fine tuning exercise in the tech section. It works.
