Here's the oldest link I remember about a notch in the battery box and lid to move the vent tube to the other side so a cheaper more common battery can be used

Of course by far the better idea is to get rid of the tube and the water checks and the battery tender and not worry about what is under the tube your blowing fumes on and put a AGM battery in the bike.

but then again I guess some folks likely still use an ice box in the house as these new fangled refrigerators just can't be trusted yet Roll Eyes
