You Da Wahine!

No detail seems to be forgotten.  I did a double-triple take on the headlight assembly, for sure with all the accents on the signals and the mirrors too...

You put a lot of heart into that work and it shows.  Great job!

PS - don't stay away while you're doing these projects.  Next time, tease us with little progress photos from time to time.

Hey I saw a bike just like this! Naw, only kidding. You done good. I keep looking at the pictures and keep finding new stuff. I just realized that you had painted the back of the directionals and the horn even. The tribal design around the rose is excellent. My favorite bit is the studded cupholder though, I don't know why, but it just cracks me up. Now I got to get off my butt and do something to my bike.  Cheesy

Cool

I spent about 8 hours cleaning the engine with degreaser, q-tips, tooth brushes, wire brushes, sandpaper etc. to get all the oil and dirt off. Then I covered and taped off the rest of the bike, and used 2000 degree heat paint and sprayed it on.

The cup holder works fine, I put a rubber layer underneath the horse shoe clamp so it wouldn't slide, and clamped on the cup real tight. It doesn't budge at all. I have a Starbucks stainless steel cup that fits in there pretty good.

I think I'll think twice about doing this again!! LOL
Had enough for a while. I just hope she runs without any trouble for a few months.
The muffler backfires louder then ever though, this was the reason I started taking the muffler off to begin with. Oh well. At least it looks a lot better with the new silver paint on it. I think the muffler has a hole in it somewhere, but it's on the inside, cause I had a lot of rust flakes fall out of the holes. even after I reinstalled it and revved the engine.

WOW!  You PAINTED those roses!  That's a heck of a job, one that anyone should be proud of.  And the next Harley you see parked...plunk your Savage down next to him and say "I did my own...how 'bout you!"   Grin

While its might be true that no man would steal your bike since there isn't very far to run on that island of yours, I'm sure many would be tempted to buy it off you. I'm incredibly jealous and would love to do something like that eventually.
