i did mine the same way, and am getting rid of the clutch switch as well for tuning purposes.

I removed them simply for simplicity.  I may shoot myself in the foot from time to time, but I wanted fewer wires in the harness and less clutter around the frame.

 Why disable the sidestand switch?

So it doesn't strand you when it fails. That is why I disabled mine.

So just fabricate a jumper and put it in the tool kit. That way you have the best of both worlds.

Unless you think that starting with the kickstand down is just fine . . .

Have yet to fine a need to disable the side stand switch.  In netrual the bike starts fine with the side stand down.   Haven't had a failure yet, "knock on wood".  The PO kept the bike pretty clean.

I do find the clutch switch annoying.  If the bike is in neutral, I feel I shouldn't have to pullin the clutch lever.  Honda been doing that for years.
Maybe that's a winter project,  get out the SuZuK FSM,  such woonderful wintertime reading.

So what does the manual safety on the left side do that the backstrap safety does not?  I have a 1911 as well, and never use the manual safety.  Also really like my Ruger Super Blackhawk single-action 44 mag, the safety is between your ears.

You don't put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to unleash fire.

Works for both guns and motorcycles  Grin

Yes sir, I like the way you think. Wink

As long as we're at it, how about the neutral light switch?
