Uh, it's come to my attention that you need to be a member of myspace to view these.  If you don't have a myspace....umm...get one?  It is 2007...

Just kidding.  I'm gonna try to put em on bikepics in a few.

Looks really different, I like the tank color!
Does having it lighter make a lot of difference in riding it and mpg?
On another note: ..... if it rains does your back gets soaking wet and pitch black?

Yeah man! and while you are tossing those ugly head covers you can pry out those bogus swing arm pivot covers and the lil` plugs covering the riser bolts. That oughta save ya a couple ounces.

And what about stripping the paint off the tank? The frame, too! Those rubber cable boots, ditch `em.

Why haven`t you drilled that brake disc yet?

Kidding aside, I love it, I do! [but you can still shave a few more pounds]

My question is...is it LEGAL?

The chrome head covers'll stay for now... I want it to look at least a little finished.

My back would get wet if I was a rain rider.  I finally have a cage after many years of not owning one, and I am more than happy to drive it when it's wet out.

There is no air filter right now.

It is sort of legal.  The only things that fail MO state inspection are my lack of muffler and lack of license plate light.  Sometimes we do things the good ol' boy way out here, and that involves a lickit and stickit inspection.

The paint IS gonna get stripped off the tank.  When I get my tax return, we are gonna grind down the tank and airbrush in some rust spots.  It's gonna stay that natural steel color.  They just started making a transparent self-etch primer, about 1oo bucks an ounce.  It'll get clearcoated after that, and look pretty mean, I think.

Oh well Smiley

Hey, uh, where`d you stash the black box and the rectifier? Gotta be under the seat?

No foolin`, that`s a great example of minimalism you got going on . We gotta run at least 12" of fenders out here in RI, and no sideways plates, either. I`m slowing pealing the pounds off mine, I love the whole bobber ethic, even before it got revived. Who needs all that junk anyway?

Keep going!

The black box and voltage rectifier live under the seat.  The starter solenoid lives in the toolbox now.

Thanks, everyone, for all the kind words...it looks like I just yanked off the fender, but in reality, it was a lot of work to get it to look so clean.

Fender removal was okay, but the airbox was mega hard to get out....cut, cut, chop, cut.  I cut the whole wiring harness loose, and re-worked it so all the wiring could be hidden mor easily.  stashing everything under the seat was difficult, but not impossible.  I'd like to let out a special thank you to Calterm, maker of fine zip ties Smiley
