Does it seem like it comes from the left side?

Check to see if the upper belt guard is making contact with the front pulley cover on the engine.  Check it with someone sitting on the bike to compress the shocks a little.  Often a slight bit of misalignment can cause these 2 parts to vibrate together.

If it looks like it might be at this place, wedge a small piece of paper in it and take a test ride.  If that fixes it then you know you need to adjust the belt guard a bit....

(Oh yeah, have you by any chance removed the front pulley cover recently?  If not then just forget this question.)

with the cooler weather here now (28 F sun nite)i had to re apply belt dressing yesterday morn @  42F...tension and alignment are fine bike been like this
since got her new 2/06..she'll squeel when is cold...

1st and formost... insure your tension and alignment are correct(search tech section)
the dressing i have is made by silkolene lubricants
TWIN POWER brand  got it at the local non make specific dealer(mostly used bikes w/new parts store)think your loco hardly store carries this brand..
no probs w/ grit wear etc..is a (think)silicone based
product..
some here use a bee wax product me thinks that would catch grime but posters have said otherwise..
also are both pullys torqued to specs??
