Idle mixture screw/carb question

Is there any way to remove a stripped head idle mixture screw by completely (or even partially) disassembling the carburetor? Or do I just need to keep trying the drill bit and screw extractor approach?

I'm planning on (eventually) taking the carb apart, and if I can get the screw out while I've got it disassembled, it would be nice.

Yet another fine mechanically uneducated question from my fingers to your eyes.

Try finding a drill it that is made to turn counter-clockwise (Left hand) when it digs in, many times it will wind the fasterner/screw right out. If you can't find one a good machinist can sharpen a regular one that way. I've done myself them for years, have about 90% success rate with ones that are just stuck or bottomed out, no luck with cross threaded ones. Use a variable speed drill on slow as you are working with soft brass and a whoops will cost you a carb. Max
