Okay, I'll start out with saying that I'm mechanically uneducated. Not incompetent, just uneducated. Pretty sure I can do whatever I need to do with the appropriate information. So, information is what I am looking for.
Right now there are a couple of cam related upgrades/modifications in the Marketplace forum: the nitrided cam chain and the VerSlavy tensioner mod/upgrade. If I'm understanding things correctly, the nitrided chain is a stronger/heavier duty chain than the stock chain so will wear less quickly. The VerSlavy tensioner mod fixes an (what I would call a design flaw) issue where a critical metal bit could come loose and damage other (critical) metal parts and extends the functional use of the tensioner by adding a second hole.
If I'm understanding things correctly, then it's worth getting both the chain and the tensioner, correct?
