5k on rear  16k front

i run dunlops  cruzmax rear  404 front...  i even did the job myself on the front.  not enough arse to do the rear,  thankz max....

Where's a good place to look online for new tire prices?

All of them.  There is no one best place for everything.   I got my Dunlops ('bout three years ago) from MAW.  Just picked up a set of Metzelers from Dennis Kirk.  Where you go depends on what you want.

About 8k on the rear - don't try this, the threads looked like they had been drawn on with a marker.
The front, 8k also, but the threads were great, until I looked in them and saw new threads developing inside the factory threads - dry rot - I could see the cracks get bigger as I inflated the tire 2-5 lbs. The tire was about 9 years old.

I changed them both at 9700 miles.  The rear was mostly bald in the center, but no cords were showing or anything.  I probably had another 1000 on the front before it was bald.  I ride a lot and it's not like I've been gentle on them.  I'm an angry driver so there's a lot of speeding up, quick stopping, and maneuvering around the $%#%#%#^ that I encounter on the road.    I put the IRCs back on and I'm gonna see if I just got a good pair or if they really are just a quality tire.
