Question on Changing Handlebars and Grips
09/28/07 at 10:17:46

Installing new handlebars and changing grips this weekend.  I did not see anything in the tech section on grip/handlebar changes (other than the one with the missing video links).  A search didn't bring me anything usable.  I did find a general how-to on another website.  So, does anyone have any links or pointers on how to go about changing handlebars and grips?  Mainly the grips part (new grips).  Any tricks to it that I need to be aware of for the savage?

Thanks.

Also, the how-to mentions glue.  What type of glue do I use?

Here are several I found on a search.  The first is one I'd begun when replacing my handlebars.  The rest center around grips and one has some glue suggestions.  The last one has a nicely bulleted list of what Susan and her husband did when replacing grips and installing a throttle lock.

Excellent!  Just what I was looking for.  Any chance of getting this in the tech section for others?

(Rob, sorry to make you do the work.  Don't know why I didn't see these when I did the search.  They look so obvious now.)

Absolutely!  When you finish yours, write up a procedure with hints and tips and add it to the Tech Doc/Ref forum.  Don't forget pictures!
