And I just kept the garage dark and looked for the spark when I turned the key to find my last short!  Went through a few fuses for that one, but it did lead me to where the insulation was chafed on a wire.

Been having the same problem. Last night watched the harness from the right bar switch arc out against the gas tank. I'm deleting that mess this weekend. Also looks like the harness is pinched over the carb. I might just rewire the whole mess while I am at it, with fullsized wiring. The factory harness is rather fragile.

My bike has room on the frame to move the starter button and delete the bar switch...

Thanks for the great tip (using a light).  Sure enough, when I unplugged the right hand control unit, the light went out and the no more blown fuses.  I guess I have to get a replacement now, anyone have one for sale?
