cut the appropriate length of tube that will slip on the expansion plug and into the handle bar. And cut thru the length on one side.
I used a piece of leather trimmed from the yoke of some other saddlebags that I had to line the inside of the bar. This worked perfect for making the 7/8" adapters fit. That was with my hollow broomstick drag bar. I've since put the stock drag bar back on. The stock drag bar has metal plugs in the ends for dampening vibrations. I drilled and tapped a 5/16" hole in each bar end and have bolted the mirrors into the metal plugs.
