Sportster seat help
08/18/07 at 17:20:58

I just finished putting the wife's Savage back together with the new paint. IT LOOKS AWESOME!

NOW I need a new seat!

I searched and cannot find the posts referring to the Sportster seat swap/mod.

Need to know what year Sporty fits?
What is the deal with the Sporty tank size?
Large tank seat or small tank seat fits the savage?
Does someone sell the bracketry needed to put the seat on or do I need to make some?

THANKS FOR THE HELP IN ADVANCE!!

Best bet do a search on sportster seat There are a number of threads

To the best of my knowledge:

Sporty seat 04-up
Large tank
Seat size 27"

Above:
Two intructional ways to create mounts and one site to buy the seat, bracket and instruction on eBay. I would think that it would be better (cheaper) to do a search on seats and follow instructions in the thread above

I've done the search for sportster, seat and any other word I could try.
For some reason I can not find the info I was looking for. Angry Angry Angry

Is it true that ONLY a seat from an '04 to present Sportster seat with a large/long tank is the only one that fits?

I saw the info on here before and now I cannot find it ??? ???

You can get the whole info kit on eBay of one method Cheesy

Plus Verslagy did a nice one.  Some of his photos are on my CD too.  I like his because his seat mounts with push pins.

Ahh yes, Kwik-Bay strikes again.  Verslagen1's instructions are very good and very FREE.  I used them, made a few very minor changes as I went along but it's basically the same installation.  Works well and the speed pins make it fast to remove/replace the seat.
