And that speedo cable has a o-ring.  when you take it off, it may fall out.  And then it will leak oil.  So don't loose it.   Grin

There is no o-ring on my speedo cable. I'm sure I watched real careful when I took it out.
I guess whoever worked on it before must have lost it.
Would any bike dealer have a speedo o-ring? I'd rather go the the bike shop down the hill instead of driving to town which takes an hour.

you can't buy a direct replacement.
When I can, I'll measure what I put in mine and post if someone doesn't beat me to it.

You can use a nitrile o-ring that fits and it'll work just fine.  A 225 PC. NITRILE O-RING ASSORTMENT can be had for $7 at Harbor Freight.

Great find! Thanks!
I'll call them tomorrow to see if they are willing to ship it to Hawaii priority (Doesn't weigh much I think) otherwise they only ship postal service 4th class (that means boat) and it could take 4-6 weeks. I tad long to wait for it in my eyes.
I can also ask for NITRILE o-rings a a car dealer, maybe they have.

I think you'll have better luck at a good auto parts store (like NAPA), or a bearing supply place. Many dealers only go by application and if it isn't for their brand are helpless.  I think some have found them at home depot, might want to do a search for the oil ring and speedo cable. Max
