Hey All,

Name is Brent, I live the San Francisco Bay Area, California. I just Bought a Red 1986 Savage with 6,000 miles (pic Below). It's my first bike  Grin and I am excited to make it mine (hopefully the first of many). I like working on cars and figured this would be a great bike to learn to wrench on especially since its got such an established community around it. Im excited to learn all I can.

Feel free to reach out especially if you are in the Northern California area too!

Hey all,

My name is Davis and I'm from Panama. I bought a 2008 Suzuki Bouleverd L650 (commonly known here as the Suzuki S40) about two months ago and this is my very very first bike. I have like 8 hours of bike experience overall right now.

It was a silver gray color but i painted it matte black, and I'm not done with the modifications hehe.

I've been following this forum eversince, it seems it has all the FAQ to follow up on this bike!

In the following post I will post my bike since the forum doesn't let me

Hi all. My name is Ryan and I recently accompanied my girlfriend to Taos NM. She's a travel nurse with a short bus converted into an RV, and we're both from the east coast. I usually teach pottery classes in MD and VA, but due to the corona virus, I won't be doing that for at least a little while longer.

Once we got here, we split the cost of a Suzuki TU250X for her to commute to work on so that she wouldn't need to drive the bus back and forth. It's been about 10 years since I've owned a bike (my first was an 88 Honda VTR250 which required more wrenching than riding). Of course, after having the TU250X for a little over 3 weeks, we've been fighting over who gets it for the day lol.

I'm thinking that I would like an inexpensive and reliable bike to take back to the east coast, and I think the S40 fits the bill.

The forum here has already been immensely helpful, and I've been reading for hours. I have a whole bunch of questions, which I am about to go over and ask in a more appropriate section of the forum, but I figured I would say hello here first.

If anyone has an S40 with an upgraded cam tensioner and petcock for sale within 3 hours of Taos, NM (hopefully for around $2000) please let me know!

Welcome Akhsha - you should be able to find a very nice S40 with that budget. I wouldn't make the cam tensioner and petcock to go-no-go decision maker, both are inexpensive and easy to do. If you find a low mileage S40 the tensioner can be done at a later date. When I picked up my 20 year old S40, it had 2,600 miles on it and plenty of life left in the OEM ACCT.

Welcome V-tec. Most say the white wall rear tire looks sharp. Definitely consider some rider training if this is your first go-round on a bike.

Hey all! Mechild here, 27 y/o with two Suzuki savage bikes, 1995 and 2005, both surprisingly close to 12k miles. I started riding on the street last year after growing up on the trails with smaller bikes/quads. Anyways, I am here for knowledge and discussion! and pics of course. I should do a rebuild thread but I'm not good at explaining myself on things. Im about 80% done with the rebuild on the 2005 but I'll surely be posting questions soon. enjoy a picture of my main ride, 1995 ls650. fishtail was a 40 dollar junkyard score.
