jarroyo, i like that. only one suggestion for you, mount it with the fins horizontal so the oil gets to the tranny and you don't overfill.

Hmm I may have to find some way around that as the angle allows me to not burn my shoulder on the cylinder. I'll see if I can lower it morein the rear.

Can anyone show me some pics of the shifter linkage? I need to start fabbing mine.

Good day to all.  I'm new to this forum and am very glad to have found it.  In my younger days I used to ride, started with a 45 flathead Harley, then a CB360 Honda, a Suzuki GS750 and finally a CB500 Honda.  30 years later I found an 86 Savage that hadn't been driven for a while and decided it was time to get back on 2 wheels.  Well, it doesn't want to start or stay running but with the advice I've received so far I expect to be up and running before to long.  I live in PEI Canada, we have a short riding season but beautiful scenery, in fact the entire Maritime provinces are full of scenic drives. Eventually I plan to modify the bike along bobber lines and try to pull more HP out of it.

Heres a pic of the linkage:http://sites.google.com/site/1996suzukisavage/_/rsrc/1251356189822/tech-info/...
If you were to attach a piece of all tread to the bottom of a rod and bolt it in the center to your frame then you could just push/pull to change gears, then you just need some heavy duty cables to hook up your clutch pedal and gas pedal! Grin

When coupled with the foot pedal which is up and which is down? Basically which direction, based on that pic is up? To the left or right?

Heres a pic with direction of the linkage. When you pull up with your foot it pulls the linkage to the left to shift up, push down pushes the linkage to the right to shift down, 1down, 4/5 up depending on year.
