Hi All, a lucky (new) owner of two Savages here; - one's a complete project bike - unfortunately, someone (deffo not me!) has attacked the frame with an angle grinder, to try and build a 'bar hopper' affair Sad by the looks of it.   The other bike is complete and stock as far as I can tell. I'm currently working on the latter, but I'm running into problems, which I'll post about in a different thread.

I'm 58 and currently live in the SW of UK.  I served in the Army for 15 years before loosing a leg.   Over the last three decades, I've been involved in motorcycling one way or another, spending over 10 years working in a custom paint shop.  I then changed direction and went into education, and ended up teaching in the post 16 age group, specialising in young people with additional needs.

Having always had a soft spot for the Savage, I finally got around to getting one (then another lol) at the encouragement of my wife, after I managed to drop my Honda DN-01 at zero mph in my garage just before Christmas 24.

As I'm a left leg amputee, riding a bike with a gear lever means some necessary modifications.  I've been incredibly lucky to find some forward controls for the Savage that need little in the way of changes to allow me to change gear with my right foot, although I did have to manufacture a new rear brake pedal - which was fun.

My user name comes from my Ham Call Sign - M0TCF.

Glad to be here and hope to contribute when I can.

Ride Safe All.

Hi all.

I’m Martin, a 51 year old (previous) savage owner from Wales UK and have decided to put a savage engine in my hard tail chop….(It previously had a gsxr 750 engine) It’s a 240 rear, 200 front hard tail over 40 years old, so no MOT required. The simple look of the savage single cylinder engine, single cab and exhaust suits the style of bike and my taste a whole lot more. The engine is being mounted into the frame in December, but I’ll try and get some pictures uploaded before then. So just wanted to say hello and thank you for allowing me to re-join the forum again.
