Hi, figured I'd better introduce myself seeing as I posted on the FSSNOC thread already, LOL.

I'm Beth, from the northeastern corner of Connecticut.  I got a '87 Savage in March for a song and hubby and I have spent the last 4 months fixing her up.  I got my endorsement in '01, found out we were pregnant and haven't ridden much since.  My first bike was a '01 Suzuki DR200 duelsport which still only has 27 miles on it.  Too tall for me even with the suspension all the way down.  Love my Savage!  Just the right size!   Grin

Now if I could find some Savage women in CT to ride with.......

Beth

Hey all, my name's Chris. I just got my bike license a few weeks ago, and picked up my '04 Savage (which is, of course my first bike) last week. So far I am absolutely loving it.  Smiley

A regular at the local bike shop where I bought my Savage pointed me here, and I've been lurking the forum for a few days, but it seems like an excellent place, so here I am!   Cheesy

Hi, I'm 'Savage, MN', residing in the twin cities, MN. I purchased my '08 red S40 in May. It is my third and largest 'cycle to date. The 1st 2 were Kawasaki's.  Smiley Introduce a 12 year delay, and now I am back on 2 wheels compliments of OPEC and wall street. Without them it never would have never happened.

It is fair to say, this site helped sway my decision towards the S40. The ease of locating important info needed in the decision making phase was impressive. I have been lurking for a while, and decided to finally make the online member jump.  Wink

I use it for a daily commuter- no small task. While not a consumate wrencher, I have blessed (busted knuckles) more that a few machines in my time and this one is no exception.

It now is sporting a windshield - (- nice feature!), a sissy bar, backrest, luggage rack, saddlebag supports, and some zip off bags (got tired of backpacking my raingear and 1st aid kit)

I was not impressed however with the mods needed to the stock Suzuki parts - but they are completed and installed now. (with the backrest, the chrome rails have a bolt that is 6 washers too long, and the backrest no longer has a emblem to cover the flat black screws sitting in the chrome)

Apart from that, this 'cycle has really impressed me. I was considering the C50T, but am very glad I got the S40 instead- it is much easier to handle, especially in traffic Cooland gets better mpg. I am willing to wager it is easier to work on also.

I would like to thank all the contributors, especially the tech section- I have already made good use of that info, and plan on completing some other items from it!

S,MN
