Drive pulley nut size?
08/06/07 at 10:59:20

My calipers dissappeared, I don't own a socket even close to the size, and I couldn't find the answer using the search function (and it's too d@mn hot to be farting around in the garage, on my hands and knees with a ruler anyway  Tongue)

So, if someone could please tell me what size socket I need to remove the front drive pullet, I'd really appreaciate it... Putting the new drive belt on is the last thing mechanical thing I need to do before I start rewiring the bike (and then hopefully ride it)

Thanks.

Just went down to Auto-zone this past weekend with my nut (also same size as clutch nut).

Found a thirty something (I think it was 32 mm) BUT.......the 1 1/4 inch 6 faced socket fit tighter on both nuts.  It wasn't much tighter.

30% of being mechanical is confidence/30% is knowing to go slow when needed/30% is looking repeatedly at what you have/10% is dumb luck Wink

32mm = 1.25984"

I bet standard clearances are around .010"

But with a 6 point you can getaway with a lot more.

Yep- 32 mike mike. Easy-peezy lemon squeezy.

So far, that's been the easiest part of this whole mess. My hands still hurt like hell from mounting the new tire on the rear rim- just getting that 90-degree valve stem in was enough drive a man nuggin' futs...
