Any feelings about these types of filters. Oiless, metal.

I'm using one, I posted how I installed it here
I like it so far (1500 miles), I was wondering what it would do in a heavy rain, I went through some, didn't notice a problem...

I was watching it to see if it would start to 'look' dirty, so far, no.  I did take it off just to check once though, and I think that's how it should be cleaned, take it off and spray water through it from the inside out to flush away any dirt and dust etc.

They can be an effective air filter, but just like the K&N filters they work much better if they are sprayed with filter oil.

BTW - I paid $14 retail including sales tax for an EMGO 60MM version last week, they are readily available from many on-line retailers.

Jim

Jim,

The EMGO 60mm fits without modifying or removing the old air box doesn't it? Can it be put in place without removing the carb? (I'm already running big jets, and probably a little rich.)
