I love it! What a fantastic job!  Cheesy

That chrome fender and sprung seat rock! Overall it just smoothly rolls together. The rear turn signals are sharp too.

Congrats on the excellent results!

Somehow I dont ever think I'll warm up to the idea of putting a seat on that exposes the electricals under the seat. No offence, but the airbox, and wiring mess under the seat is just about the ugliest I have ever seen on a bike. I'd give anything to cover it up. Gazillion wires going every direction in every color, the ugly ass frame tags holding them here or there ... sheite ... with the stock seat and side covers enough of it comes into view. Pathetic. Lovely seat, but like a flowing skirt would prolly cover up all the crap underneath, but will also cover the exposed seat springs ... oh well ...
Cool.
Srinath.

As requested, some close ups of the seat mounting. hope they help

If i realised i was going to have to raise the front mounting bracket  with so many spacers, i  would have built it differntly...

I bent the origional back seat brackets flat with a heavy pair of pliers, then inserted some screws  through the  holes.

And by the way, these are the 2" springs. They can absorb shock, but are  rigid enough to keep the seat from bottoming out on the frame.

Man that is one sweet lookin' bobber! I have one suggestion. The rear mounting of your seat on those tabs are taking on a weight they were not designed to hold, the stock seat rests on the frame rails. I would either re-enforce them or fab a bracket out of steel that bolts to the frame rails.

I'm not an engineer, but I've stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, and I agree, the tabs don't look load bearing; at least not as much as you have them............not saying you are too heavy!  Embarrassed

Overall I would give you an A, the tabs are a minor concern. If you had not already figured them out they would have let you known sooner or later. the Savage makes a really sweet lookin' bobber with little investment.

Ya know, if you were wearing the Savage Kilt, that wiring would not show. So maybe thats why it isn't bothering Dean - he's wearing his kilt.  Wink
