springer seat and passeger pad

Team,

I am wrapping up my 99 savage bobber. It really looks great, i will post a few pix when all done.  I would like to finish it off with a simple solo springer seat and simple pad.  I can modify the stock pad as needed, cut it down by half foam and recover to match solo seat.  I have seen several great solo seat mods here hence any input on a simple seat (where to get it and cost)along with any custom brackets you made to fit everything back together is appreciated.  I have seen several on ebay, less than $40 even in leather but will it fit right?
trying to save me some time.

Thanks

Richie

I am kind of a rookie at this, but I'll show you what I did. After removing stock seat I formed a frame pan out of some scrap diamond plate I had lying around and bolted it to the frame rails. This gave me a place to mount the front bracket of my solo seat. For the rear I formed a bracket out of 1/8" steel that bolts to the original tabs for the stock seat. These tabs are not strong enough to support you alone make your bracket so you can attach it to the frame rails. You will also have to drill two holes for the rear mounting bolts to go thru. This is probably not the best way, but it has worked for over 1000 miles so far this year.

I'll take some better pics and post them if you want.
PS: the gap between the frame and pan is not there once attached.
