I have just put saddle bags on a and now can't get to the helmet lock. Just a thought really.

They fit over the lever and won't slip off the end.

I have a 1954 Lucerne milk crate, wooden, with steel corners.
I am planning on taking an old street sign to have it folded in the right places & make a lid for it, that is about 3 or 4 inches taller than the box.A guy I talked to said he would do it for $20.00. I have 1/8th panelling to line it with to make it waterproof. That way the kid can stash her riding gear when she gets where she is going. I am planning on just using j-bolts to snug it down on the seat. I'll put a little hasp & lock on it.

I like it, but the rack is kind of cheesy. I've broken welds on it twice. Now I've got one side held together with u-bolts. That fix works fine. I wish someone made a REAL luggage rack for this bike!
