Don't know exactly how much taller the front of the seat is, but I would guess about an inch.

What I did:

I removed the seat and removed the rubber pads on the bottom. I then took looses the seat cover at the front so I could get at the holes where the rubber pads were seated.

I then took two 11mm sockets and bolted them in place of the rubber pads then used silicone to glue the rubber pads onto the sockets. This seems to have worked rather well and I must say I don't have to worry about getting intimate with my fuel tank anymore on hard braking.
