HELP! it only runs on choke (Read 5 times)

Posts: 27 NY/NJ Gender:	HELP! it only runs on choke 05/18/07 at 08:25:40 the bike has been rejeted for the muffler . i checked that, i made sure there is no air leaks in the carb and i check the air mix screw...i just cant get it rite....It just doesnt want to run with out it being on choke...its an 03 with 10,000 miles on it... any help would be good, thanks

If running with the choke (actually an enrichener) pulled out works, your pilot circuit is too lean. You need to adjust that to a richer setting with the idle mixture (pilot) screw. You should also adjust your idle speed when you do this (follow Lancer's Straight & Simple Carb Tuning thread in the Tech Ref forum). If you are unable to adjust the pilot circuit sufficiently with the screw, you may need to install a larger pilot jet. It's also possible your existing pilot jet may be dirty/clogged since the enrichener bypasses the normal pilot circuit. A simple cleaning could correct it.
