Has anybody had any experience with the optional S40 Pillowtop seats?

Considering the purchase and was looking for feedback.

Thanks,

Hey JD06 does that seat allow you to sit back any further than the stock s40 seat ?

Yes, I put one on my '98 Savage.  It's a definite improvement over the stock seat.  Sometimes I wish it was slightly wider and a tad further back but most of the time it's just fine.  I often ride with a sheepskin pad on it in hot weather since it allows circulation and reduces sweating.  I got the S40 seat at Oneida Suzuki and the pad at Sheepy Hollow.

The funny part is that I live like 30 miles from Oneida, where Oneida Suzuki is.

I'm going to have to drop in there sometime just to check it out.

I noticed that the Oneida website says that the seat will not fit the LS650. Did you have to make any modifications?

Thanks,
Gary

That's rather stupid on their part considering the S40 IS an LS650.  Suzuki changed the name from Savage to S40 but the model number remained the same.  In any case, yes - but very minor.  A few options are discussed in several threads already and you can do a search or two to find them but the simplest method in my opinion (and what I did) was to remove the metal tab from the back of the seat by drilling out the rivets.  Then it fits nicely.
