Does anyone know of where I can buy some great 4 - 6 inch risers? I love the horntype handlebars that I have. Will I have to do anything with the cables if I put on 4 inch risers? How about 6 inch risers? Thanks!

I ended up using a low rise harley type bar with the high risers. I don't know if the cables are long enough for buckhorns and high risers. But they are fine with the high risers and harley bars.

Okay, I'm just a stupid American that has no idea about metric measurements! Help me out - what's the equivalent of 50mm in inches? and what is 80 pounds worth in dumb ole American dollars? Don't you hate how we Yankees don't know what the rest of the world goes by?

50 mm = 2 inches
80 pounds = Approx. 40 kilograms or 50 bucks

Just to give you an idea of what the stock tall drag bar risers look like if you put the other stock buckhorn handlebars on them:

That's how my '87 was set up when I bought it and rode it home about 50 miles. That setup was murder on my arms, neck, back and butt. I really couldn't recommend it to anyone. Not only does it look goofy to me, but it rode stupid too.

And yes, the wiring harness was cut and lengthened to allow reaching that far. As you can see, the clutch cable was run around the outside of the tank; because there wasn't enough cable to route it correctly. Here's how I fixed that mess:

Much better now... But the Sportster seat isn't working that great for me. So there's always something better! Wink
